Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. This essential “time element” has to do with the viscous flow and the piezoelectric phenomenon: a low load (gentle pressure) applied slowly will allow a viscoelastic medium (fascia) to elongate.
"Philip greatly helped me with my back pain. He is kind, patient, professional, and knowledgeable."

The Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) method of muscle lengthening and fascial release is a type of Athletic Stretching Technique that provides effective, dynamic, facilitated stretching of major muscle groups, but more importantly, AIS provides functional and physiological restoration of superficial and deep fascial planes. Active Isolated Stretching is effective because it does not provoke the protective stretch reflex and therefore allows for actual, progressive lengthening of muscle fibers. This stretching technique accomplishes this feat by using a repeated 2-second stretch (repeated 10-12 times) rather than holding for a longer time.

This treatment is a slow, gentle, and rhythmic treatment for the face and body which focuses directly on improving the flow of the Lymphatic System, by following the pathways of the Lymph vessels located throughout the body. I use the Vodder method of Manual Lymphatic Drainage, which takes its roots back to the early 1930s. This method aims to move lymphatic fluid from the body’s tissues and into the lymphatic vessels, soothing the body’s inflammation, calming the nervous system, aiding in pain relief, and boosting the immune system.
"Philip has helped me improve any pain that arises. He is very knowledgeable & provides insight on what I can do between sessions to strengthen and prevent injury. I highly recommend a lymphatic drainage massage. It is a more relaxing and gentle session working through the whole lymphatic system. I went to a sauna session after and noticed a large change in detox and energy. "

Cranial sacral therapy (CST) is sometimes also referred to as craniosacral therapy. It’s a type of bodywork that relieves compression in the bones of the head, sacrum (a triangular bone in the lower back), and spinal column.CST is noninvasive. It uses gentle pressure on the head, neck, and back to relieve the stress and pain caused by compression. It can, as a result, help to treat several conditions. It’s thought that through the gentle manipulation of the bones in the skull, spine, and pelvis, the flow of cerebrospinal fluid in the central nervous system can be normalized. This removes “blockages” from the normal flow, which enhances the body’s ability to heal.
"I started going to Philip for massages in 2009 and have had a bi-weekly 90-minute session with him ever since. His massage work is intuitive and deep. I was always surprised at what he could learn about my aches and pains just through touch. His massage every two weeks is just what my body and mind need to keep going and be happy. The money you spend on massage is an investment in your health and well-being."

Prenatal Massage Pregnancy is a beautiful – but often uncomfortable – time for a woman. As she grows new life within her body, she experiences aches, pains, and fatigue like she’s never known. It is helpful for swelling, neck, shoulder, and back pain associated with pregnancy and oftentimes provides a better night's sleep. Fortunately for expecting women, prenatal massage helps to relieve those symptoms so that they can enjoy the miracle that is their unborn baby. I use specially designed prenatal cushions so the expecting mother is comfortable at all times.

If you were injured in a motor vehicle collision in Minnesota, you do NOT need health insurance to be treated for injures. Minnesota is a "No-Fault" state and requires auto insurance companies to provide minimum Personal Injury Protection (PIP) coverage for medical-related expenses and your wage loss and essential services on all policies. This coverage is available to you when you are injured in an automobile-related incident – without concern for who is at fault. This coverage is available to you whether you are at fault, another person is at fault, or even if no one is at fault. That means your insurance company will pay for treatments related to your injuries from the date of the incident OR until your PIP benefits are exhausted. Uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage provides additional payments for medical costs, lost wages, and similar expenses. A bodily injury claim under PIP does not increase your insurance premiums. It is also your right to seek treatment from providers of your choice. To be covered by PIP you must get a physical examination for the injury received in an automobile accident as soon as possible by a Doctor of Chiropractic or a Medical Doctor.
PIP covers all health care, including chiropractic care, massage therapy, acupuncture, and physical therapy. You are covered regardless of who is at fault and regardless of the ultimate settlement for injuries received. And you are entitled to use the health providers of your choice. Treatments such as massage therapy, physical therapy, and medical devices must be prescribed by your doctor or chiropractor.
If you were involved in an auto accident and have a prescription for massage therapy from your Chiropractor or M.D., Hanson Holistics will bill your insurance company for you. Soft tissue injuries, such as sprains, strains, spasms, adhesions, and inflammation can cause debilitating pain that can lead to more concerns over time. Stress and trauma wreak havoc on even the healthiest person. It's important to seek treatment as soon as possible following an accident.
You'll need two things before coming to your first massage therapy treatment. After that, we take over the paperwork responsibilities for you!
Cash, HSA & FSA, Visa, Americain Express, Master Card
